CVS Caremark announced plan to buy Coram LLC
CVS Caremark Corp. announced on Wednesday that it will buy Coram LLC, part of the Apria Healthcare Group. The final price for Coram was $2.1 billion. CVS hopes that the new acquisition will expand its available services for customers. Coram supplies medication and food that is given to patients through a tube, due to medical conditions that cause low immunity or nutritional imbalance. The company has around 20,000 patients every month that it serves, and in addition to home services, it has mobile infusion vehicles.
The deal between Coram and CVS will close at the end of the first quarter in 2014, and CVS expects Coram to gain $1.4 billion in the first year following the deal.
