3 men charged with robbery

Three Maryland men have been charged with robbery near the Adams Morgan area. The robbery took place around 3 a.m. on Saturday. According to authorities, 22-year-old Sterling Thornton, 21-year-old Montero Valentine, and 21-year-old Michael Richards approached a man from behind and began punching him before taking his watch and cell phone.

Thornton also reportedly struck a man from Alexandria after he refused to give Thornton his watch. All three men were apprehended shortly after the robbery took place. Each was charged with robbery by force, and Thornton has additionally been charged with assault with intent to rob.
