“Nordic Cool” celebrates Northern European culture at Kennedy Center

0

For the next month while the Kennedy Center hosts a celebration of Northern European cultures, the white, marble walls will shine with blue and green lights in an artistic rendition of the aurora borealis (the northern lights). “Nordic Cool” will run through March 17, and will feature hundreds of artists from Norway, Sweden, Finland, Greenland, Iceland, Denmark, and the Faroe and Aland Islands. A Danish light designer named Jesper Kongshaug created the northern lights installation. There will be performances celebrating various dances, music, art, film, and food.
