The Associated Press has reported that Virginia Tech has banned university business travel to Guinea, Sierra Leone and Liberia in relation to the West African Ebola crisis. The ban was announced in a letter from university President Timothy Sands posted on the school’s emergency management website late Monday. All trips for research, recreational purposes and outreach have been cancelled, and personal visits are being discouraged. The ban is apparently precautionary.
