Snowden changing position on meeting asylum terms

According to Russian President Vladimir Putin, NSA leaker Edward Snowden may be changing his stance on meeting the conditions of asylum in Russia. The President spoke about the intelligence leaker to Russian Geographical Society students on Monday after Snowden announced he wanted temporary asylum in the country as he waits to travel to Latin America.

Previously, Putin declared Snowden would need to “stop his work aimed at harming our American partners,” in order to be given asylum. Snowden responded by withdrawing his asylum request. However, on Friday, he said he will not damage the United States in the future. Putin said, “(Snowden) knows about the conditions about getting a political asylum.”
