Prosecutors want Mubarak hanged

0

Prosecutors in the trial of former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak requested death by hanging as his penalty. Mubarak has been accused of ordering the deaths of protesters during the country’s uprising, which Mubarak denies. Prosecutors are also asking the death penalty for Mubarak’s interior minister and four of his six aides. They requested a maximum jail sentence for the remaining two aides.

Khaled Abu Bakr is a civil rights lawer who represents the families of victims. The request  by prosecutors comes after three days of prosecution arguments in the courtroom. The hearing will resume Monday, when Abu Bakr and other civil rights lawyers present their case against the defendants.
