Iran demands U.S to take action against anti-Islam film

The top Iranian leader has asked the U.S to put a ban on the anti-Islam film that has caused much rioting in the Middle East. Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was quoted as saying the U.S must not be “accomplices” to a “big crime.” The U.S has responded that it cannot impinge on citizens’ free speech, and Google has refused to put a blanket lock on the video. “How there is no room for freedom of expression in these cases, but insulting Islam and its sanctities is free?” Khamenei said.

While Iranian citizens have protested against the film, none of the protest turned out to be violent. The U.S does not have an embassy an Iran, but protestors stood outside the Swedish embassy, which handles diplomatic talks for the U.S in Iran. The U.S has no plans to alter or block the video, although the maker of the video may face criminal charges.
