Iran calls for UN condemnation of scientist’s killings

An Iranian ambassador urged the United Nations Wednesday night to condemn the attacks against Iranian scientists as terrorist acts following a clear pattern. “There is firm evidence that certain foreign quarters are behind such assassinations,” the letter said, in reference to death of Mostafa Ahmadi Roshan. Roshan was killed in a car bomb Wednesday morning.

Three Iranian scientists have been killed in similar attacks in the last 2 years. The U.N. Ambassador, Mohammad Khazaee, attributed the attacks to Israel, while an Iranian lawmaker blamed United States intelligence as well. U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton rejected that claim, saying, “I want to categorically deny any United States involvement in any kind of act of violence inside Iran.”
