‘Veteran’ and ‘Barack’ banned from license plates
All states prohibit certain words or phrases from being printed onto license plates and D.C. has the same procedure. Anything that is offensive, such as, ‘ASSHOLE’ or ‘BALLSY’ is not allowed, and any words that relate to the government, with examples like, ‘FBICAR’ are out of the question. The list of prohibited words is available online, but some of the words are questionable in terms of their inappropriateness. For instance, ‘COCONUT’ is prohibited as well as ‘FAIRWAY’, ‘FREEDOM’, and ‘REDSKINS’. Other questionable words include ‘VETERAN’, ‘MARINES’, ‘BARACK’, and ‘BUSH1’.
