Unemployment rate drops slightly
The unemployment rate in the District of Columbia has gone down by one-tenth of a percent. The Labor Department released new statistics that show the capitol gaining 2,900 jobs in March.
Unemployment now stands at 8.5 percent instead of 8.6 percent in February. Nationally, the unemployment rate is 7.6 percent. In March, D.C. had 31,900 unemployed residents. Currently, there are 341,200 employed residents in the district.
