The Toys for Tots annual toy drive has collected thousands of donations for the less fortunate.
The U.S. Marines, along with other volunteers, are working to sort through the toys by age and gender so that they will be ready for distribution this week.
Marine First Sergeant Anthony Vargus says, “As long as we can help families and children during a time of need, that’s good for us and good for the community.”
The program originated in the 1940’s and to date, Toys for Tots is responsible for the collection and distribution of over 470 million toys.
