The common club drug, Molly, is now being investigated as a factor in the death of 19-year-old Mary “Shelley” Goldsmith.

The University of Virginia student was later pronounced dead after collapsing at the Echostage nightclub in D.C. on August 31.

In an attempt to create awareness of the danger of the street drug, Goldsmith’s father, Robert Goldsmith now openly admits that his daughter had engaged in the recreational use of Molly, the pure form of Ecstasy.

He stated, “She was doing everything right, and she did one thing wrong.  It led to her death.”

While the official results of the autopsy have not yet been concluded, the D.C. police say this is the first case regarding a fatal dosage of Molly.

Robert Goldsmith, had previously stated that his daughter’s cause of death was a heart and pulmonary attack, made this Facebook post on September 1, “I always knew that my daughter Shelley was a star, I found out yesterday that she was a shooting star with only a few brief moments to walk the Earth.”
