Ricin found in Georgetown dorm room
The substance found in dormitory at Georgetown University Tuesday morning has been confirmed as being ricin. According to police, a subject has been identified and interviews are ongoing. Samples were taken from the room Tuesday by D.C. Fire and EMS and the FBI. Those swabs didn’t show signs of harmful agents. Decontamination experts cleaned the room where the substance was found and there is no threat to the Georgetown community. Anyone exposed to ricin would have symptoms within 24 hours, although that time period has passes. How the ricin got into the McCarthy Hall dorm room is still unknown.
