Obama to speak at MLK Memorial dedication
President Barack Obama is scheduled to speak on Sunday at the dedication of the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial. When Obama was a senator in Illinois, he contemplated what that moment would be like for him and for his daughters. With the memorial now complete, Obama will have the chance to reflect when he stands up as a featured speaker.
The dedication was originally schedule for August, but Hurricane Irene forced a postponement. The monument, situated between the Lincoln and Jefferson memorials, is the first on the National Mall honoring a black leader.
