Man steals car with person inside

A man is in custody in D.C. after losing control of a stolen car on Wednesday morning. Police say an unidentified female was still in the vehicle when it was taken by the man.

The car was stolen near a Subway in the Union Market area of Northeast. The female was let out of the car near the 1500 block of north C Street. The man had driven nearly 12 blocks before stopping the car.

The driver lost control of the vehicle at the 3400 block of Benning Road. He was arrested shortly afterwards.
