Man mails baby chicks to ex as a joke

A man mailed 15 live chicks to his ex-girlfriend for a joke. The package contained a note stating that there are lots of other chicks out there, implying he doesn’t need her love anymore. When the D.C. woman told the mailman she didn’t want them, he took the package to the Washington Humane Society. Nine of the chicks now reside at the Poplar Spring Animal Sanctuary in Poolesville, Maryland, while the other six are at a sanctuary in Winchester Virginia. Only one of the chicks was injured, and only slightly, reports Poplar Spring. Mailing the chicks was not illegal.
