Juvenile shot in Southeast robbery attempt

According to D.C. police, a man who shot a juvenile in the arm during a robbery attempt also pointed an AK-47 at an off-duty officer.

The officer fired his service weapon during the incident on 34th Street Southeast, but missed the suspect.

Department spokesman Officer Anthony Clay says the suspect man dropped the weapon afterwards and drove off with two other men. The car later crashed, and all three men were arrested.

The wounded juvenile was taken to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
