Jazz in the Garden kicks off 15th season

The Jazz in the Garden Series begins its 15th season starting Friday, May 22. The free concert series features jazz artists performing a wide variety of styles (including salsa, blues fusion, xylophone, Afrofunk, etc .) every Friday evening from 5:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the National Gallery of Art Sculpture Garden. Jazz in the Garden will be kicking off its annual series with a performance from jazz guitarist Tom Lagana, the first of fifteen artists to scheduled to play each week through August 28. The concert series will also offer performances from: Juanita Williams (Jazz vocalist), Marty Nau (Jazz saxophonist), Speakers of House (old-school funk, boogaloo, and rock), and Sin Miedo (Salsa). People may purchase refreshments from the Pavilion Café and its carts located around the Garden or bring their own picnics. Alcoholic beverages are not allowed on the premises from the outside and will be confiscated upon discovery.
