Government to sell former Councilman Kwame Brown’s vehicles

The federal government has taken possession of and will sell two vehicles previously owned by former Washington, D.C. Councilmember Harry Thomas Jr. Thomas is now serving three years in prison for embezzling more than $350,000 in city funds. The former councilmember confessed that he used some of the stolen money to purchase a Chevrolet Tahoe SUV, and a Victory motorcycle.

The two vehicles have been forfeited to the United States, according to a court filing last week. There are payments that remain on the Tahoe, which will be allocated to Ally Financial after the vehicle is sold. The filing, reported by The Washington Examiner, did not identify when the vehicles would be sold.
