A former elementary school teacher is due in federal court on a child pornography charge. Eric Toth, who was on the FBI’s list of most wanted fugitives, is scheduled for a preliminary hearing Thursday afternoon in Washington.
Toth was arrested in Nicaragua last month after being on the run for five years. The FBI added him to the “Ten Most Wanted” list in order to draw attention to his case.
In 2008, Toth was escorted from the campus of Beauvoir, an elementary school on the grounds of the National Cathedral. Another school employee reported finding child pornography images on a camera owned by Toth. Toth was able to flee before he was arrested.
