Ex-campaign aide to DC mayor to plead guilty

A former campaign aide to D.C. Mayor Vincent Gray has been charged with lying to federal investigators.

Vernon Hawkins has been accused of lying about his role in obstructing a federal campaign finance investigation.

On Monday, the U.S. Attorney’s office filed criminal information, charging Hawkins with a single count of making a false statement.
