Department of Labor lawyer dies in jail
U.S. Department of Labor lawyer Paul Mannina was found unresponsive in his D.C. jail cell. The 58-year-old was accused of a home invasion at a co-worker’s home.
According to the Department of Corrections, Mannina was found dead in his bunk early Tuesday morning. The cause of death is currently unknown.
Mannina had been in jail since last week due a charge of attacking a co-worker in her home in northwest Washington. The woman claimed Mannina had a “crush” on her and attempted to use a stun gun during the attack. He was charged with first-degree burglary while armed and third-degree sexual assault.
