DC Principal comes out as gay

Woodrow Wilson High School in Northwest D.C. held their 2nd Annual Pride Day Celebration on Wednesday, where Principal Pete Cahall came out as gay to his students. “I especially celebrate the LGBTQ community today, and I’m excited – as always – to take part in the Capital Pride festivities this weekend,” stated Mayor Gray. not everyone is as supportive as Mayor Gray, The Westboro Baptist Church is threatening to picket outside the school. Westboro’s website says members plan to protest outside the school, waiting for students as they arrive. Councilmember David Catania says he called the school and said “thank them for standing up for the values of acceptance and equality that define the District of Columbia.”
