Muriel Bowser, District of Columbia’s Democratic mayoral nominee, claims that her parents were the victims of a burglar who posed as a cable company employee to get into their home and steal their property. Browser stated that her parents are “a bit shaken up” from the experience. D.C. police are continuing to investigate the burglary in the North Michigan Park neighborhood. The burglar is responsible for at least two other home invasion in the same area. In a statement Friday, Bowser said, “Having your home, your place of sanctuary, violated is one of the worst things that can happen to you… This just goes to show that we all need to stay vigilant and ask for identification when someone we do not know, or did not expect, knocks on our door.”
