A District of Columbia police officer is under investigation after a missing teenager was found in his apartment Wednesday.
Now police are saying he is responsible for operating an entire prostitution ring from his apartment.
According to investigators, two females, along with narcotics and high heel shoes, were found in the apartment, one 16-year-old and one 18-year-old. The 16-year-old claimed he took naked photos of her and arranged for her to sexually solicit an older man.
This case came to light a day after another D.C. police officer was hit with a child pornography charge. It is unknown whether or not the two cases are related.
Case documents include a statement from one of the teens saying the officer instructed her to perform sexual acts on the older man for $80 and to pay him $20 out of her profit. She also claimed she had encountered six other women at the residence involved in prostitution.
“We recognize that the actions of individual officers reflect on the entire department…The misguided actions of a few in no way reflect on the professionalism, dedication, and integrity of the department,” said Police Chief Cathy Lanier.
The police officer is still under investigation and has not been formerly charged.
