D.C. officers paid $425K in discrimination suit

A federal court awarded $425,000 to five black police officers in a discrimination lawsuit.

The five officers filed suit after they claimed their department retaliated against them after they filed complaints of racial discrimination.  The pay-out verdict was handed down Thursday.

A verdict awarding $900,000 was thrown out in February after closing remarks by the plaintiff’s lawyer were deemed “improper.”

The defense team for the city has denied the allegations.
