Seventy people were displaced by a fire at an apartment building in D.C. on Thursday when fire crews were called to the 1400 block of Belmont Street Northwest. Three people were treated on the scene for minor injuries, but no one was transported to the hospital or severely hurt, fire officials reported. According to The American Red Cross, “Numerous apartments in the four story 20 unit apartment building experienced fire, smoke and/or water damage.” Red Cross volunteers helped displaced residents with sleeping accommodations and food.
