Britain’s Princess Anne, 64, will unveil a plaque at Arlington National Cemetery today to honor five Americans who were awarded the Victoria Cross for service during World War I. The event takes place 75 years after Princess Anne’s grandfather, King George VI awarded the Victoria Cross to American physician Bellenden Seymour Hutcheson for valor in the District in June, 1939. Just as her grandfather did, Princess Anne will also lay a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknowns. The ceremony is in connection with Britain’s year-long commemoration of the centennial of WWI.
