Arizona man allegedly fakes own death

Authorities say an Arizona man allegedly faked his own death and took a bus trip to visit a friend in D.C.

On Wednesday, police said that 18-year-old Jordan Renner came into the District of Columbia Capital Police station claiming that he was kidnapped. His story proved inconsistent with the facts.

Renner’s parents contacted the police when he did not return home on May 26th. Police found Renner’s car keys, clothes, cell phone, and wallet with identification by the Colorado River. A two-day ground and air search commenced, but did not turn up any sign of Renner.

Police say the case will be forwarded to the Mohave County Attorney’s office for possible criminal charges.
