A Virginia Beach woman celebrated her 111th birthday on Wednesday. Iris Branch, who was born in 1903 when President Teddy Roosevelt served in office, was surrounded by friends at Chesapeake Bay retirement home,where her birthday party was held. Branch’s son, Deon Branch, stated his mother never smoked, rarely drank and was a dedicated worker at the hotel she and her husband operated. Branch is a lifelong resident of Virginia Beach.
