13 people injured in D.C. downtown drive-by

On Monday morning, at least 13 people were injured in a drive-by shooting on North Capitol Street. Most of the gunshot wounds were to the legs, extremities and hands. One victim was shot in the lower back. Overall, the majority of the injuries were not life-threatening.

Police are in search of two cars that could have committed the drive-by at around 2:10 a.m. The shooting took place 1 mile away from the U.S. Capitol. Police claim that a large group of people was standing outside when two cars drove by and proceeded to open fire. It is unknown whether the group of people fought back.

Police are still collecting evidence and interviewing witnesses. They encourage anyone who knows information about the shooting to call the police.
