Members of the Virginia Supreme Court have elected Justice Donald W. Lemons to serve as the new chief justice. Lemons will take over once Chief Justice Cynthia Kinser retires on Dec. 31. His four-year term will begin on Jan. 1, 2015. The General Assembly elected Lemons twice before as a justice, back in 2000 and in 2012. Lemons had served as judge of the Court of Appeals of Virginia and as a Richmond Circuit Court judge
