Attorneys for a Virginia woman accused of killing her son are looking for a journal he kept before he died. Lawyers say the teen’s writings could shed light on the mother-and-son relationship, as well as any culpability she may have had in his death. The teen, Quincy Davis, disappeared in 2004, but was never reported missing. His body was found in the trunk of a car owned by his mother, 45-year-old Tonya Slaton, after police pulled her over. Officials believe he died at the age of 14 or 15. Slaton’s attorneys argue that she loved her son. A jury trial is scheduled for late September.
