Virginia attorney general-elect announces new chief deputy

Virginia Attorney General- elect Mark Herring has announced that Hampton city attorney Cynthia Hudson will act as chief deputy as of January 11.

Hudson’s duties will include overseeing the attorney general office’s legal operations and providing legal services.

Hudson, who is a member of the Virginia Law Foundation, has been Hampton’s city attorney for eight years.

She has a law degree from William & Mary as well as a bachelor’s degree from Virginia Commonwealth University.  Hudson was also recognized amongst “Influential Women of Virginia” by Virginia Lawyers Weekly in 2012.
