According to police, 18 people were arrested after protesting outside the Virginia headquarters of the National Rifle Association. Fairfax County Police spokesman Don Gotthardt said the protesters were arrested Tuesday morning. They were charged with loitering on a public highway and released. According to local media outlet reports, the activists gathered outside the headquarters Monday evening to mourn those lost in the Orlando shooting and to protest the NRA’s opposition to gun-control measures. The protest took place hours after the Senate rejected proposals on gun-control measures.
