VA voters already reporting problems

0

Just hours after polling places opened in Virginia, reports of problems with the machines, lack of paper ballots, and human errors were emerging. Voters in Fredericksburg, and in Fairfax and Loudoun Counties had problems with malfunctioning voting machines, or extra long lines due to too few available machines. Some voters were turned away, only to find the problems resolved soon thereafter, or were told that some early votes may not have been counted. There were also reports of voters turned away because their districts had been rearranged or that their polling place had been changed.

These early reports of polling problems could become vital in an election that is so contested throughout the state. The results are expected to be very close, and any discrepancies will be closely monitored by both campaigns as well as by voters themselves.
