Teens jump out of malfunctioning car

Two teenagers leapt from their vehicle on I-81 after the car’s brakes failed to continue functioning. Nineteen-year-olds Sean Wies and Amy Guevara were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Weis and Guevara were driving a 1998 Mazda Protégé and dialed 911 when the car’s brakes stopped working near Weyers Cave. Police surrounded the car to keep it from hitting other vehicles, and after the teens had escaped, pushed the car into a guardrail. No charges will be filed.
