Sexual assault on University of Virginia student investigated

Charlottesville Police are conducting an investigating into a possible sexual assault against a female University of Virginia student. A university statement emailed to students, staff and faculty Wednesday revealed that the woman was found unconscious in an apartment in the city Sunday evening. The unnamed student was then taken to the university’s medical center for treatment. The statement added the the woman later had no memory of hours spent with a male acquaintance she initially met online who had served her liquor. Her condition was not immediately publicized. The university spokesman, Anthony de Bruyn, refused to comment on recent events.
