School aids charged with assaulting boy

Two former Culpepper County School employees have been charged with assaulting a 5-year-old autistic boy on a school bus. On Monday, 50-year-old Linda Rastall and 56-year-old Betty Turner were arrested and charged with assault, battery, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Police say the child started crying when a toy was taken away from him as he rode home from school. Rastall and Turner proceeded to verbally and physically abuse the boy in order to control him.

Both women were released on bond, but are expected to appear in Culpepper Juvenile and Domestic Relations court on May 8th.
