McDonnell lawyer vows to appeal

Bob McDonnell’s attorney, Henry Asbill, as said that his client will definitely appeal the trial.
Former Virginia Governor Bob McDonnell has been found guilty of 11 counts of conspiracy, bribery and extortion by a federal jury Thursday. His wife, Maureen McDonnell, was convicted on nine counts of the same. They face up to 20 years on each count, although a lighter sentence is suspected. The sentencing is scheduled for January 6, 2015. Maureen McDonnell never took the stand.
The couple was indicted on 14 counts each, related to large gifts of money and luxury goods from Jonnie Williams, CEO of Star Scientific Inc., in exchange for special treatment and favors from the office of the then-Governor.
