Dead animals discovered in piles under bridge

piles of dead animal carcases were discovered under a bridge in Catoctin Creek last week.

Dave Daley was working on a construction site when he came across the animals that had been skinned and piled up under the bridge off of Featherbed Lane.  Daley notified the Loudon County Animal Services.

He says, “I’d like to see somebody prosecuted because somebody’s clearly doing something wrong.”

Twenty-seven of the bodies were classified as raccoons, foxes and at least one dog.

The Virginia Department of Environmental Quality is in charge of removing the bodies.
