A man found dead on an Interstate 85 travel lane was hit by several vehicles, according to Virginia State Police. The body was discovered Tuesday night by troopers after receiving several reports of a man lying in a southbound lane in Petersburg. The cause of death is being determined by the medical examiner’s office in Richmond and the man has not been identified. As police investigated the scene, the southbound lanes were closed for several hours.
