Arlington National Cemetery avoids furloughs

Arlington National Cemetery claims they will avoid furloughs despite budget cuts of up to 5 percent. Although the government has automatically implemented these cuts, the cemetery plans to get by with money saved from previous yearly budgets.

If budget cuts were to go into affect, the resulting furloughs would produce 160 less funerals per month. However, the lack of a budget is still causing harm due to the fact that without it, a $103 million expansion cannot take place.
