US Olympian Vonn will not copmete in Sochi

Four-time World Cup and Olympian downhill skiing Champion Lindsey Vonn will not be competing in the upcoming Winter Olympics next month in Sochi. 11 months ago, Vonn injured her right knee while competing in the world championships. Since then she underwent reconstructive knee surgery but was re-injured in November after crashing in a training session. “I’m having surgery soon so that I can be ready for the World Championships at home in Vail next February,” Vonn stated.

Beginning February 7, the 2014 Winter Olympics will kick off at the Russian Black Sea Resort in Sochi, Russia.
