Track star tested for substance abuse
According to the Associated Press, Tyson Gay has tested positive for a banned substance. The substance has not been identified. Gay said during a phone interview, “I don’t have a sabotage story. … I basically put my trust in someone and I was let down.”
Gay tested positive for the substance on May 16 during an out-of-competition test. The United States Anti-Doping Agency has yet to test his “B” sample. If the sample also tests positive, Gay could be banned from the sport. Gay has already withdrawn from the world championships occurring in Moscow this year.
