Philadelphia Eagles’ Mike Patterson has seizure during practice

During practice on Wednesday morning, Mike Patterson, 28, defensive tackle for the Philadelphia Eagles, suffered a seizure. According to his trainer, Rick Burkholder, Patterson is currently alert and stable, joking with staff at the hospital.

Earlier in the day during practice at Lehigh University, Patterson dropped to the ground and began violently seizing. Burkholder and rookie offensive lineman Danny Watkins, a trained firefighter attended to Patterson, who briefly lost consciousness while on the ground. Players prayed and held hands while the paramedics arrived.
