NASCAR driver killed in crash

NASCAR driver Jason Leffler was killed on Wednesday after a crash on Bridgeport Speedway in New Jersey. Leffler was competing in a Sprint race at the speedway’s “Night of Wings” event when his car flipped on the front stretch of the track. The roof of his car had considerable damage.

Safety crews removed Leffler from his car and took him to Cooper Trauma Center, where he was pronounced dead, according to NBC Philadelphia. In his lifetime, Leffer won three USAC Midget championships in a row between 1997 and 1999. He also participated in the Sprint Cup and the Nationwide series.
