Former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer has agreed to pay $2 billion to buy the Los Angeles Clippers. According to Forbes Magazine Ballmer has a net worth of $20 billion, and was able to outbid the competition including the likes of David Geffen and Oprah Winfrey. Pending approval of NBA Commissioner Adam Silver, this deal will be the largest sum of money ever paid for an NBA franchise. Co-owner of the Clippers, Donald Sterling, originally bought the team for $12 million back in 1981. If all goes to plan and Ballmer gains rights to the team, he has stated that he will not move the team from Los Angeles.
