POLITICS – Trump comments on dispute with Pope at town hall

After getting into a dispute with the Pope Francis, Donald Trump has softened his tone towards the religious leader. Trump stated, “I don’t like fighting with the Pope actually — I don’t think it’s a fight.” This comment was very much in contrast to statements made by the presidential candidate earlier on Thursday. The entire dispute began after the Pope made a veiled criticism of Trump stating, “A person who thinks only about building walls, wherever they may be, and not of building bridges is not a Christian.” Trump did counter this statement at the town hall claiming, “He’s got an awfully big wall at the Vatican.”
