Politics – Sanders calls for changes to Democratic Party primary system

0

In response to Hillary Clinton’s significant delegate lead, Bernie Sanders has suggested that the current Democratic Party’s primary system is un-democratic and that it favors Clinton. The Vermont senator says the superdelegates, comprised primarily of steadfast Democrats, are the main problem as most of them are already backing Clinton. However, CNN political analysts say Sanders suggestion wouldn’t actually make it any easier for him to get the party nomination and that the results of the race would be about the same. Getting rid of superdelegates would lower the number of delegates needed to 2,026, according to CNN, and Clinton would still lead Sanders by nearly 300 delegates.
